Denver Nuggets Advance to Western Semifinals

Nikola Jokic Leads Nuggets Past Timberwolves

Steve Smith Breaks Down the Game

The Denver Nuggets have advanced to the Western Conference semifinals after defeating the Minnesota Timberwolves in four games. Nikola Jokic led the way for the Nuggets, averaging 26.8 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 8.0 assists per game. In Game 4, Jokic had a triple-double with 25 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists. He also made several key plays down the stretch to help the Nuggets secure the victory. "Nikola was incredible tonight," said Nuggets coach Michael Malone. "He did everything we needed him to do and more. He's a special player." Karl-Anthony Towns led the Timberwolves with 22.8 points per game in the series, but he was not able to match Jokic's production. The Timberwolves also struggled to contain Jokic's passing, as he often found open teammates for easy baskets. "We knew that Jokic was going to be a tough matchup," said Timberwolves coach Chris Finch. "But we didn't do a good enough job of containing him. He's a great player and he made us pay." The Nuggets will now face the Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference semifinals. The Suns are the top seed in the West and they are coming off of a 4-0 sweep of the New Orleans Pelicans. The Nuggets and Suns will play Game 1 of their series on Tuesday, May 2.
